DCE Engineers have Gas Safe, NICEIC and REFCOM accreditations which covers all of the gas, electrical and refrigerated appliances in school/commercial kitchens and domestic science/food technology rooms. All our fully trained and experience engineers also apply the BS4163:2014 standard which is the Code of Practice for Health and Safety for Design Technology in schools.
Installation and Removal
DCE offer a service where we can install your new equipment and remove/dispose of your old equipment for you, saving you the hassle. We ensure that you comply with environmental regulations by issuing you with a waste transfer note once we have disposed of your old unit. To ensure you are using your new product to its full potential and within the manufacturer’s recommendations, we can also arrange for training on your newly purchased equipment by the manufacturer or our own engineers.
Full Servicing Programme
DCE even offer a full servicing programme for your equipment/appliances once the manufacturer’s warranty has expired. This ensures that your equipment is still working at optimum performance and is kept in line with safety regulations. We sell high-quality, branded products at the best possible prices and even offer finance options to help you spread the cost of those bigger purchases. Annual Service
A typical catering equipment annual service by DCE would include the following checks:
- Test safety controls
- Calibration of thermostats
- All electrical components
- All gas components
- Installation conformity to current standard and regulations
- Gas pressure is correct
- Combustion
- Extraction and Ventilation
- Gas interlock and proving system
- Gas emergency shut-offs and labelling
Annual Service
A typical D&T Workshop annual service would include the following:
- Clean/Vacuum machine
- Visual inspection of the machine
- Lubricate moving parts and grease points (if applicable)
- Operational check of machine, stop buttons and safety equipment (guards/switches)
- Earth continuity check
- Carry out minor repairs
- Check operation of Room emergency stop and Room Signage
- Refer to current guidelines & ACoP to ensure that the machine conforms
- Produce report & quotation for any repairs
- Provide a certificate when/if conforms to guidelines
Annual Service
A typical Electric Ceramic Kiln annual servicing consists of:
- Cleaning/Vacuuming kiln
- Inspect condition of elements
- Inspect condition of internal brickwork
- Check condition of electrical connections
- Check Kiln Controller for correct operation
- Earth continuity check
- Check Electrical loading of kiln in relation to data plate
- Carry out minor repairs
- Produce report and quotation for any repairs
- Provide certificate when/if conforms to guidelines.
Annual Service
A typical LEV Inspection of D&T Dust/Fume Extraction Units (cost per unit based on no. of test points) includes:
- Checking system for blockages, empty dust collection trays if required
- Check system for damage
- Check rotation of fan to ensure correct direction
- Perform quantitative testing by measuring duct velocity/hood velocity readings
- Perform qualitative testing (smoke tests/dust lamp tests)
- Evaluate results and provide report & quotation for any repairs
- Provide certificate when/if conforms to guidelines & ACoP
Annual Service
A typical LEV Inspection of Science Fume Cupboard unit includes:
- If ducted unit check fan rotation on roof and condition of roof stack
- Check all visible joints and ductwork
- If recirculating unit, check Carbon Filter installation date and replace PRE-Filter if required
- Operational check of sash stops and mechanisms, lighting and sockets
- Perform quantitative testing by measuring face velocity readings
- Perform qualitive testing (smoke tests)
- Evaluate readings and produce a report & quotation for any repairs
- Provide certificate when/if it conforms to guidelines & ACoP
